Excitement!

I’m going to walk with Hanson tomorrow! 2nd time round!

I’m honestly not too sure if I can sleep, I am so psyched about tomorrow. I mean, I should be able to because I did just fine the last time I met them…but this time I know not to make an arse of myself in their presence. And it won’t be so damn cold tomorrow, so I can even go barefoot if it stays dry Camera batteries are charged, cell phone is charged and my camera is still holding on for the last scraps of it’s well-fulfilled life…so I am all set to go. Now, since I won’t need a coat tomorrow (it’s going to be 58F and sunny all day!)- I just need to make myself presentable and not look like a hobo incase someone catches me on one of their photo. Or (heavens above!) I happen to be my usual clumsy self and fall down in front of one of them and they help me up or something.

Right. I have to fix my hair before bed- I won’t have time in the morning as I’ve got a pretty packed schedule tomorrow. Abby’s going with her aunt to some Harvest Fest, so I have the morning/afternoon to myself, and I already told Nick I was going to go out because I had this huge chunk of time to go do something.

Tornados

I got to see my first tornado close up today. I mean we weren’t being storm chasers or anything but we were across the free way and we could see the funnel touch down on the fields around the airport. And first it was heavy rain and then it was hail, and I got to hear my first tornado siren. I was geeked It took forever to drive through because everyone was driving like morons trying to get home asap, but we pulled over on the freeway and I got to watch it in progress. It only touched down for about 10 seconds and there wasn’t any damage but it was so much fun. I sat there with my hands on the window and enthralled like a little kid. 

Driving home, we saw less and less cars on the freeway- which was strange considering that it was rush hour. The festival grounds were closed even though it was the opening day of Pride Fest. The lake was still and I’d never seen it like that before. Big black clouds were ominously hanging over Lake Michigan, like they were waiting for something to happen. 

And then after it was all over, the sun came out and the clouds cleared away…and the temperature shot up about twenty degrees. Insane.

Food and Sunshine

Last night, me and Nick marinated a whole cut up chicken in some home-made sauce and left it overnight. We got the barbeque grill out this afternoon (because the weather was gorgeous today) and grilled the chicken, along with some bratwurst. I am absolutely stuffed. Abby didn’t want to come outside and hang out with Nick and I, so I had to stay upstairs with her and keep running downstairs to the back to bring Nick stuff. I’d spend a couple of minutes with him, drink some PBR and then run back upstairs to keep my eye on Abby. Turns out my plan wasn’t as foolproof as I thought. 

I was keeping my eye on the chicken while Nick started to run some of the stuff back up to the apartment, and he eventually comes back down stairs and proceeds to tell me that Abby was really naughty and couldn’t be bothered to get up to use the bathroom. So, I get back upstairs while Nick stays with the bbq and Abby is in her bedroom with a pull-up on and she’s been stripped out of her jeans and underwear. I take her shirt off, put her pj’s on and brush her teeth. Since she decided it would be a fun game to pee on the couch, I don’t read her a bedtime story and I tuck her into bed. After shutting the bedroom door and turning out the light, I take a towel to the couch and attempt to soak up some of the pee out of the couch cushions. Sigh. There’s still the towel laid on the couch so if anyone sits down, they won’t get a partially wet butt :p After two brats and a couple of pieces of chicken, I am absolutely stuffed. 

I will not be working out tonight because I think it’s safe to say that I got enough of a workout just by going up and down the stairs and carrying stuff up and down from our apartment. Tony Horton and Chalene Johnson can wait 24 hours :p

Rain, Rain Go Away

I hate April. I really like rain but this is just torture! It’s nice one day then rains the next. You never quite know what to do with yourself! 

Packed up a few more boxes. We now have no DVD’s on the shelf and no XBox, so I’m stuck with my GameBoy until we move. Gah, I hope I don’t get angry over anything because Bloodrayne is always a good game for taking your anger out on. Kick some zombie butt

I just put Abby down for a nap, and we’re going to call some more uHaul places this afternoon, because our local one doesn’t have the truck we need for the afternoon we’re moving. Luckily, there’s a few others in the city so we’ll call those and see what they have for offer. We also plan on going out for some ice cream too, Abby got a $5 gift card to an ice cream parlour, so we’re going to head over there and see what kind of yumminess they have for sale. Even though it’s raining and cold outside, there’s always time for ice cream no matter what the weather :p
