Thinking.

I’m thinking that I’ve made my blog too personal over the last few months, and I’m gonna make it a lot more fun. Since I got my new computer, I’ve now got the opportunity to use my webcam and do video blogs…so I might do that. I’m also going to start posting new photos and junk…cause I have a ton on the computer that I never got round to doing.

This especially will happen when I finally get back to the UK. Just not sure really how to go about it all….I know it will mean that I will have to put in a lot more effort into looking un zombie-like and more like a human being, lol.

Zombie Roundup!

So, since I am not online this evening…I thought I’d post all the screenshots I took of the zombie event in WoW. It really was awesome and I really enjoyed it. I ran around with a guildie for part of it and we killed any undead that even looked as us funny- such a riot! :D

Galilyse

Here she is at level 62. I got to 64 last night and will post another pic of her at 65. She’s looking pretty spiffy. no? :D (Notice the new coloured hair and the facial markings- all thanks to the new barber shop!)

Mmm…

I’m such a slacker. I’ve honestly not done a lot recently that’s worth reporting other than playing WoW (after putting more money on the account) and doing housework. The weather rapidly dropped in temp here, so now we’ve got the flannel sheets on the bed and Abby has her quilt back. We even had to put the heat on the other day because it dropped to 55F and I complained that I was frozen. The heat has gone off again now, since it’s above 60F outside again…but sometimes the nights still get a little chilly and I shuffle around the house with my favourite Hello Kitty blanket draped around my shoulders like a shawl.

I guess I have a couple of things to report. We went to the zoo on Wednesday, and it was a fairly cold day. My friend from church has a Zoo Pass for the local zoo and we went along with our daughters and her son (Our daughters go to preschool together and are becoming pretty good friends). We saw a few animals, but we mainly stayed at the indoor exhibits where it was a little warmer and then we sat outside and ate lunch (me and my friend packed lunch at her house while the girls were in school). Was a lot of fun, but I think we’re going to find something a bit warmer to do for next time.

Myself, Nick and Abby went to a birthday party today- was a pretty low key affair but it was for one of Abby’s best friends, Izzi. It was so cute cause they saw each other and hugged each other straight away, totally adorable. We bought her a Curious George book for her birthday, cause my friend (her mom) told us that she loved him. Her family was all there and another of my friends, who’s birthday is next week like mine- so I got an invite to her birthday next Saturday, I really hope I can go cause I need to spend some time away from the computer and out of the house.

And then tomorrow is another little girl’s birthday party, this time is one of Abby’s schoolfriends from preschool…and it’s almost right after church so I’m gonna have to say my goodbyes and get on the road. My friend’s daughter is also invited so I’m gonna see if I can get a ride with her- otherwise I’m gonna have to catch the bus or something.

Whooped by a Three Year Old!

I had a meeting at the church tonight with the youth leader, as I had agreed to help lead Sunday School for the preschool class this year (after one of the teachers has gone inexplicably missing) and so we quickly wolfed down dinner and walked down to the church so I could get there on time. I meet the youth leader there and we have our meeting and afterwards I decide that I could use a glass of water. Abby asks for one too, so we dash up to the gathering space to use one of the drinking glasses on the side for a quick drink.

As we get up there, I see that one of the members has lent us his Wii for Rally Day this coming Sunday. They forgot to bring the Wii Sports disc with, so we’re playing on Wii Play- which was alright I guess, pretty simple games designed for older or younger folk than I. There was a couple of games on there that were kind of fun and Abby really liked a fishing game- which I helped her with a little bit and she proceeded to whoop the butt of the church’s community leader (who’s idea it was to get the Wii in the first place). Not only is the Wii for use on Rally Day, but I also heard that it’s a test run to see if the older folks will play it and we can nudge the trustee board to buy one for the church- as we’re planning on starting up a Family Game Night every Friday during the winter when there isn’t a lot to do.

It was fun and it was so much fun to watch Abby playing on the Wii and her eyes were just like saucers- she was so entranced it was the most adorable thing. I guess I know what she wants to play on come Sunday :p

My Little Ponies

I used to collect My Little Ponies when I was a kid and I loved them so much. Me, my best friend and our neighbour collected them all together and our combined collection was huge! Unfortunately, I wish that I could go back in time to remember all the ones we had…because I can’t remember over half of them. I have two of the ones I do remember, I got them off eBay a couple of years ago. I’m after a complete version of the Pretty Parlour because Vicky had that and it came with a pony called Peachy.

There’s a point to this story, I swear. So, Sunday rolls around and we head off for church as usual and afterwards there’s this huge rummage sale happening across the street. I see lots of kids stuff, so I head across with a friend to check it out and Abby is in tow. I’m looking at a rack of clothes and I turn my back to ask Abby if she likes this piece of clothing that I have my eye on for her and she’s not there. So automatic panic sets in, until I see her on the other side of the sale playing with a basket of guess what? My Little Ponies! Fortunately for her, they weren’t the G1 (Generation 1) ponies I collect

- they were the more recent variety and she was having so much fun with them. So I checked the price on them and they were 50c a piece with 8 in the basket. I originally bought two and we went home. Abby had so much fun with them at home, that while she was napping I ran back to scoop up the rest.

They were all a little bedraggled looking when I got them home, but you could tell that they were well-loved ponies. I hadn’t a clue on the name, so I set about on Google looking for a database or something that could tell me. I came across a forum called the My Little Pony Arena and it was an amazing community full of answers and collectors just like myself. Through there I learned how to clean up the ponies that I found at the rummage sale and now they look almost new again!

EBay is my new best friend, I’m now back for looking at G1 ponies. This is going to cost me, I can tell :p

Smile!

So this morning we took Abby to the Picture People to get her photo taken. I like to get one done at least twice a year, and because she didn’t have one taken on her 3rd birthday this year we took her today instead. Abby behaved herself really well and she’s always been good at following directions when it comes to photography…so we got some really nice photos out of the shoot. I took along a couple of props with me, such as her favourite toy giraffe Jeffrey and one of her favourite books- The Cat In The Hat. Abby’s a big Dr Seuss fan :D And because of coupons and our Portrait Club membership, we didn’t have to pay for anything. So it was a good trip all round, which I like because it’s quite a trek to the Picture People in the first place.

And then this evening, we marinated some chicken and the three of us sat out in the back garden grilling. While Nick was at the grocery store, me and Abby sat out with a ball and a bubbles set and played. I found this really cool bubble blower at the local dollar store and she loves it because it helps her to blow bubbles easier (Abby has problems with regular bubble wands). Then when Nick came back from the store, we all played a game of football (soccer) and we all had a lot of fun. I like it when the three of us can hang out, because Nick works so much. I’d honestly like it if we could do it more often.

VBS is Great!

It was the third day of VBS today and I am enjoying myself so much. After my half hour with the kids, I don’t do anything else for a whole 90 minutes so I walk home and eat dinner with Nick while Abby is occupied with her classes. It’s nice because it gives us a little time to spend together doing things we’re not allowed to do while Abby is around, like watching Family Guy. We both love that show so much (I like American Dad too) but we can’t watch it while Abby is around because it’s not age-appropriate. Bummer :p

I was a little uneasy about doing VBS at the start, but as the week’s gone on I’ve loved more and more of it. I love working with Brad because he is so easy to get along with and we have a blast together. Faith Fusion Finale is definetely my favourite time because the kids get to be involved and they have a blast with us. Brad’s also one of the Sunday School teachers so he’s automatically better with the kids than I am. I just get nervous in front of people I don’t know very well. I’ve learned with kids though that they don’t care if you screw up, because they don’t know what it’s supposed to be like in the first place. So being up on stage in front of them has turned out to be easy.

Now, Pastor Kelly asked me tonight if I’d like to do a song with the kids on Sunday during Children’s Time and myself and the kids have to perform a song for the congregation. Ohhhhhhh crap. That’s what’s making me nervous. If I keep my back to the congregation I think I should be okay. So they get to watch me wiggling my butt in church….BIG DEAL, get over yourselves. I’m enjoying myself and so are the kids. Isn’t that the most important thing? :D

VBS, It’s A Learning Process

So tonight was the first night of VBS (Vacation Bible School), and it was about 50/50. At the beginning, I’m supposed to start off the whole night with some songs and a skit with ‘The Crazy Professor’. The skit went great, but my bits wern’t so great. I think it was because I was following the booklet that came with the CD for the music program and it threw me off so much. We were originally having the DVD projected up onto a big screen and then a separate CD playing, but we had a problem with them trying to cue up on one of the songs…so tomorrow I’m gonna scrap the DVD, and just go with the CD. We used just the CD at the end and it went much better because the kids wern’t distracted by the DVD. I’ve also typed up my own version of my music class so everything is going to be far less chaotic tomorrow.

Abby also took part in VBS this year, since she was now old enough. She had loads of fun I can tell you, with red dots on her face and four cups of Kool Aid in her belly. I’m surprised she fell asleep that quickly with that much sugar inside of her. She did make me a cookie while we were there, and she was really proud of herself. I felt so proud of her in return because she was being such a good girl :)

The most fun I had though was the Faith Fusion Finale because me and Brad (the guy that plays The Crazy Professor) got to do a science experiment for the kids using dry ice and dish liquid…and their eyes just lit up it was the most insane reaction. It made me so happy to see them enjoying what they saw, and I don’t know what the experiment is for tomorrow night but Brad says it’s going to be even better. So bring on tomorrow night because it’s going to be far better than tonight.

Heck, anything can be better than the shambles that was tonight :D
