Why, Oh Why?

My husband likes to watch me squirm, I’m sure of it. I told him today that if I came home from working for my friends with a cheque in my hand to pay him back for the bounced cheque…could I get the password for the WoW account again? The answer was no, because he would prefer I pay him back in my own time and he will give me the password when he thinks I’ve learned my lesson.

*insert whining noise here* No. No, no no no! I have a Level 70 that is dying to be played, and I want to interract with my fellow guild members again- I have such fun with them. Some of the time it isn’t about playing the game, half the time we sit around and chat…and I know that it’s an expensive $15 a month for just talking to people…but I miss that. I call the GM on the phone and talk to him that way, but honestly it’s not the same.

So hopefully when I get some money today, I will be able to play tonight. If he still won’t let me, I will go out and buy my own version of the game and I’ll make my own account. He can’t stop me playing if I have my own account with my own password and my own way of paying for my nightly social interaction.

Knowing Nick, he’ll probably take away the modem and stop me playing that way. Ughhhhhh.

Bad Luck

I appear to be having such rotten luck at the moment. I managed to download some nasty virus on the computer yesterday after only having the internet back for a few days and then my computer goes on the fritz and now I am back to square one…paying more money out for the damned computer.

So I am back to scrounging other people’s computers to type my blog entries. Bah

There’s Something Wrong With This Picture…

I am absolutely sickened by today’s media. Abby was watching a little of ABC Kids this morning (before I realised that Playhouse Disney was on) and this commercial for Libby Lu’s kept popping up. 

“You can be ‘Fabulous!’ just like Sharpay! Oh and spend $25 and recieve a sign for your door!”

Say what?! I was absolutely dumbfounded after watching it. The kids on the commercial are no older than 6, maybe 7 and they’re acting like their adults in their high heels and glittery make up. This is not the worst thing. 

No, no, nooo. The worst thing is that when we went to The Picture People the other day, Libby Lu’s is two doors down and we have to pass it unfortunately. And in there I see THREE year olds playing with make up and wearing feather boa’s. My eyes popped out of their sockets and my inner conscious screamed as if it was being slaughtered. I seriously wanted to call CPS on the parents and take their kids away from them.

Little kids should be into cute things like Mickey Mouse or Elmo. Abby likes Hello Kitty and Cookie Monster. They shouldn’t be wearing make up and trying on play high heels. I know that for the kids they see it as dress-up but the parents shouldn’t be encouraging make up or places like Libby Lu’s- which is just an overblown girly wonderland. 

I am hoping and praying that my daughter grows up to be a tomboy like I am. I’ve always been a tomboy, although I’ve got a little more girly as I’ve gotten older. I’ll wear a skirt if the occasion calls for it. I just don’t know how to act in stores like Libby Lu’s because well, I don’t fit in. I look like a car mechanic going to see a ballet, or a Valley girl attempting to take her old bed to the local dump. 

I’m not trying to be selfish. I just don’t want Abby to like stuff like that so I’m keeping her away from it all.

Meddling Family

Okay, so I know I’m supposed to want to have my family know every thing about my life…but there’s a reason I moved 3000 miles away. They’re so nosy! My brother called me a couple of days ago to let me know that my two of our aunts were now on Facebook and they wanted to friend me. I was alright with it until I found out who my aunts were. One of them wants to know EVERYTHING about me and I’ve never really liked her. She’s only a few years older than I am (I’m 26 and she’s about 42…I think) and she always tried far to hard to be cool and hip. It just really irks me, she doesn’t try to be my aunt…she tries to be my friend and I don’t need that. Now she’s all sending me messages on Facebook about wanting to be my ‘friend’ and wanting to see the photos. Er no, I think I’ll pass. She also wants my phone number so she can call me, again no I think I’ll pass. She’s just call me everyday and drive me crazy. 

I just don’t need it. I have my own life to lead and I do not need to be checked up on every five minutes. Keep your nose out of my life and I’ll do the same for you. I do not care if you’re my family. Gah.
